Remedy 1: Cloves
Cloves have antibacterial properties and natural painkillers. It is one of the main ingredients in the Indian and chinese medicines. For years, its use is there to cutre different types of pains and aches.
How to use them?
You can use dried cloves and place them between the problematic tooth to kill the pain. Alternatively, you can dip a cotton pad in the clove oil and apply it on the tooth. The taste of cloves is not pleasant so avoid getting its juice on the tongue. If you are pregnant then do not try clove oil before asking your doctor.
Remedy 2: Cold Compress
Cold compress is the best thing you can try for the toothache and if there is swelling then it is the best choice. The cold compress option is to soak a towel in ice water for a few minutes or keep frozen peas wrapped in the kitchen towel. Then place it near your face where you have pain and it will help to lessen the swelling. You can also massage ice cubes on the gums.
Remedy 3: Brine
Regular use of warm salt water is a great way, whether you have a toothache or not. The warm salt water will help in cleaning the food particles present in between the teeth which can lead to toothache also. Brine will also help to reduce the swelling in the gums. You need to mix a couple of teaspoons of salt with warm water. For 60 minutes swill the brine in your mouth and you will get relief.
Remedy 4: Whiskey
This method is tried and tested for a long time to ease the toothache pain. Whiskey can help to numb the area and kill the bacteria which is causing the tooth pain. Take a small amount of whiskey and swill it around the mouth to get relief from the pain.
Remedy 5: Capsaicin
Capsaicin is found in chilli peppers ribs and it helps in getting pain relief which also includes the nerves teeth. Take a few drops of cayenne oil on a cotton pad and rub it around the tooth. But, do not get it on the tongue as it will burn.
